Thank you so much to the editors who commissioned this piece. The poet Javier Zamora and other fantastic writers have work in this issue, and I can’t wait to pour through it. I hope to see you at the journal’s launch party this Friday, April 29th at 7pm at the Lillian Vernon Creative Writing House. There will be readings by Jeremy Michael Clark, Andrew Mangan, and Kamilah Aisha Moon, contributors to the nationally distributed literary journal. There will also be octopus temporary tattoos, drawn by me. Enjoy!

Brooklyn Poets Audio Recording

Many thanks to Jason Koo for adding this audio recording of my poem “Remembering What the Body Is” to the Brooklyn Poets Soundcloud Archive. This poem was featured when I was the Brooklyn Poet of the Week in April 2014.  Check out the article here.

Today I handed in my Master’s Thesis, Little Vices. My time at the NYU MFA has come to a close. I’d like to extend infinite thanks to my family, my friends, my teachers and students, and to Deborah Landau, the best advisor anyone could ask for. And to Bryn Dodson, wherever you are.

Hey all, super excited to have poems in Yew Journal alongside beautiful paintings by my dear friend / former Carnegie Mellon University classmate / New York roommate Jiyoo Jye. This year I want to make more visual artist/writer collaborations happen – many thanks to Yew Journal for giving us a space to do this. Thanks also to Catherine Barnett’s writing workshop for inspiring and editing these poems.
